Madagascar's Reptilia
Four order of reptilia has been recorded in the world: crocodiles, tuatara, lizards and snakes, and turtles. All of these except New Zealand’s tuatara are found in Madagascar.
Madagascar has got 423 species in thirteen (13) families:

- Gerrhosauridae

- Boidae
- Lamprohiidae

Almost 100% of the 423 species are endemic and numerous undescribed candidate species have been identified.
The extinct species are the following: Voay robustus, Aldabrachelys abrupta and Aldabrachelys grandidieri, sea turtles and sea snake : Hydrophis platarus and species unconfirmed or dubious occurrence on Madagascar.
The Trachylepis betsileana and the Agama agama are excluded from this list.
According of the IUCN Red List of Species (2016): one hundred eighty two (182) species were found to be threatened

- 49 Near Threatened.
